Description
The Wichard D Shackle with Bar and Key-Pin is a precision-forged connector designed for frequent opening and secure performance in marine environments. Constructed from grade 316L stainless steel, it offers excellent resistance to corrosion and delivers polished durability. The key-pin mechanism allows the pin to rotate a half turn for quick opening, and because the pin remains captive, there is no risk of losing it when in use. A removable bar across the eye of the shackle keeps halyards or lines positioned even when the key-pin is open.
Available in pin diameters of 5 mm, 6 mm, and 8 mm, it offers working loads of approximately 400 kg, 520 kg, and 800 kg respectively, and breaking loads around three times those values. Because it is forged, the shackle exhibits strong grain flow and excellent fatigue resistance. Ideal for applications such as adjusting halyards, sail rigging, or other fittings that must frequently be opened and closed yet remain dependable under load.
