Description
Capetown represents the fundamental entry point into high-performance 12-braid rope technology, engineered as the base series within advanced rope construction. It delivers exceptional value and reliability through Dyneema® SK78 fibre. This versatile rope combines ease of splicing with high durability, making it ideal for sailors upgrading from traditional double-braid or polyester lines to a more advanced, high-performance alternative without a steep learning curve or prohibitive cost.
Capetown is available in multiple diameters to suit a range of general-purpose rigging and performance sailing needs. The FL-400, FL-500, and FL-610 variants offer approximate diameters of 1.7 mm, 1.8 mm, and 2.2 mm respectively, with maximum breaking loads of 400 daN, 500 daN, and 610 daN. These specifications make Capetown well-suited for lightweight control lines, lashings, and load-sensitive applications across dinghy, sportsboat, and cruising platforms.
Built from Dyneema® SK78 in a true 12-strand braid, Capetown offers a strong balance of minimal stretch, low weight, and exceptional abrasion resistance. Its spliceable construction makes it accessible to sailors of all experience levels, while its robust mechanical performance ensures long-term reliability under demanding marine conditions.
Capetown is supplied by the metre or in continuous long-length spools, allowing flexibility for both small custom rigging projects and full-deck refits. With its combination of proven materials, performance consistency, and ease of handling, Capetown serves as an ideal introduction to modern high-performance rope systems.
