Description
High Tech Shock Cord is engineered for performance sailing, where strength, stretch and abrasion resistance are essential. It features a core of natural rubber which can stretch to double its relaxed length, providing excellent shock absorption under load. The outer cover is made from Robtec polyester blend offering very low friction and strong protection against wear. Specifications show diameters ranging from 3 mm to 8 mm. The 3 mm size carries a breaking load of about 44 daN, 4 mm about 89 daN, 5 mm about 97 daN, 6 mm about 105 daN, and 8 mm about 170 daN with weights per metre from approximately 6 g to 42 g depending on size.
This cord is ideal for pole launchers, rigging takes-ups, tramp boarding, or any application where dynamic load needs to be absorbed smoothly.
