Description
Polyester 16 is a high-performance rope engineered for demanding marine and rigging applications where extra grip, durability and minimal stretch are essential. With a 16-plait polyester outer cover over either a twisted or braided core, it offers a smoother, more flexible feel than lower plait counts. The dense weave of the cover provides excellent abrasion resistance, particularly in wet environments and where contact with blocks, cleats or sheaves is frequent.
Its stretch under working load is typically under 5–6%, ensuring predictable handling and control. Breaking loads vary by diameter, making it suitable for sheets, control lines, lashings and halyards. Soft and comfortable in hand, Polyester 16 is easy to handle while maintaining its shape under load. UV exposure and moisture cause minimal degradation, ensuring a long service life under tough marine conditions.
